"Hope over fear"

On this historic day, we can't help but comment upon the inauguration of Barack Obama, our 44th President. His message of "hope over fear" resonates with us. We have the rare privilege of experiencing the emotions of hope, fear and (the one he didn't mention) love almost every day. It seems that almost every one of our assignments places us at the center of these emotions - hope, fear and love. The power emanating from them is astonishing. Whether it be the birth of new life, marking the graduation of a student or the bonding in marriage of two people in love, these emotions flow through our lenses and animate our work. We can only hope and pray that they energize this Presidency and power freedom to a new and sustainable level around the world.

Our thoughts and prayers are with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on this historic day. God speed and good luck.
