WWII memories

As we approach the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor that precipitated our entrance into war, today's post is very different. Kathy and I recently spent some time with my dad - he'll be 90 in a couple of months. Although he doesn't like to talk about it, he's a decorated WWII veteran with a purple heart and bronze star for his heroic action in the Pacific theater. His (my) family traces back to Solomon Juneau who founded Milwaukee - and he has a map handed down from my grandmother to prove it.

We were amazed to find that he had retained mementos from this historic period in American history.
